The "gut microbiome" consists of billions of bacteria that live in your intestines (gut). For the most part, these bacteria live peacefully inside you and are a natural and healthy part of digestion. When the bacteria in the gut microbiome digest the food you eat, they do it by a process called fermentation.
Fermentation is not necessarily bad, but sometimes too much fermentation can cause symptoms such as pain, bloating or even diarrhea and constipation.
AIRE helps you track fermentation by measuring hydrogen on your breath, which can point to fermentation in the gut.
